Unlike the adulteress’s secret invitation, Wisdom calls openly to all. Her words are true, righteous, and more valuable than precious metals or jewels. She hates pride and evil, gives counsel, and enables rulers to govern justly. She poetically describes herself beside the Lord before and during creation, delighting in His ordered world and humanity. Those who listen find life and favor; those who reject her embrace death.

Wisdom gathers and deepens the father’s appeals. Because God made the world in wisdom, wise living accords with reality. Practice wisdom through sustained attention: value instruction above wealth, hate evil, seek diligently, and wait daily at her doors. Christians recognize Christ as “the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24). Here the poem presents wisdom personified, a poetic portrayal of God’s ordering wisdom. Material prosperity may accompany wisdom; righteousness and life are the greater treasure.
