What happensPermalink

A father urges his son to treasure his commands and keep Wisdom as close as a sister, guarding him from the forbidden woman. From his window he sees a simple youth walk near her corner at night. She meets him with boldness, flattery, sensual promises, secrecy, and religious language; he follows like an animal entering a trap. The father warns his sons that her house leads to death.

Why it mattersPermalink

The simple youth lacks formed judgment and is easily influenced. Before the woman speaks, however, he has already chosen the road near temptation; his vulnerability and agency coexist. He sees the invitation but fails to grasp the deadly cost. Keep wisdom close before testing comes, avoid routes that make sin easier, and never mistake religious appearances or secrecy for safety.

Key versePermalink
