The singer rejoices in the city’s unity — seen not just in its enduring structures but in the shared devotion of its worshipers. This pilgrimage fulfills Deuteronomy 12:5–6, where God commands His people to seek the place He will choose. The psalm’s prayer for peace anticipates the vision of global worship in Isaiah 2:2–4 and finds fulfillment in Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
