What happensPermalink

A father urges his son to receive, treasure, and seek wisdom as silver. Then he will understand the fear of the Lord, for the Lord gives wisdom and guards those who walk with integrity. Once wisdom enters the heart, discretion protects against corrupt men and the adulterous woman, while directing the learner into the paths of the good. The upright remain in the land; the wicked are uprooted.

Why it mattersPermalink

Wisdom must be diligently pursued, yet it remains God’s gift. Its protection becomes inward: knowledge grows pleasant, and discretion recognizes crooked speech, dark paths, and seductive flattery before they carry a person toward death. Proverbs 2 therefore sets two ways before us. Seek God’s wisdom until it shapes your desires, companions, sexuality, and conduct, leading you in the way of life.

Key versePermalink

For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it.
