Jesus tells the parable of the ten virgins (five wise and five foolish) and of the talents (five, two, and one). He gives the image of the sheep, welcomed into the kingdom; and the goats, cast out.

All three images point to a constant following of Christ—being prepared at all times, using what God has given you, and loving your neighbor, even when it seems nobody is watching and nobody is coming.
